They don't make guitar slingers or guitars like they used to

ST. PETERSBURG — A man smashed an electric guitar over another man's head during an argument, police said.

Julius A. Casterberry, 47, of St. Petersburg was arguing with Henry Taylor at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, police said. Casterberry grabbed an electric guitar and hit Taylor over the head several times, breaking the guitar into pieces, police said.
Somebody obviously hasn't watched Keith Richards' very useful instructional video "How to Bonk Someone with an Electric Guitar and Stay in Tune," in two parts.

This was more of a Pete Townsend guitar hit.

What was the make of guitar? Jesus, that'd be embarrassing for a manufacturer. SEVERAL pieces.

What was the make of guitar?

The lousy article doesn't say. Some of the commenters say, "Definitely not a Les Paul."

Meanwhile out in the midwest, St Louis I think, someone was attacked by a drunk wielding a frying pan and hit him with a banjo.
Banjo vs. frying pan: banjo wins. The bluegrass world has been much amused by this. Said the police:"The smell of alcohol was prevalent."

unmed? no, no, remed

Given the accuracy of the typical police report and the lameness of the usual police reporter it could have been anything. An Irish bouzouki (wouldn't hurt much) an Ovation/Applause tupperware style guitar (would hurt some) or an SG (wouldn't hardly leave a mark). Wasn't a Les Paul is right.
